22 Mar Celebrating Grandparents Day at St. Johnland

Most years residents at St. Johnland celebrate Grandparents Day with a carnival on the grounds. But, in order to comply with social distancing, we brought the carnival to the residents’ rooms instead! Some of the staff dressed as clowns to set the mood as the Carnival Cart rolled into each room. There was cotton candy, fun, and games for everyone. Many residents’ families sent in cards, notes, and photos wishing them well on Grandparents Day (September 10th). As the staff passed out the cards they eagerly engaged the residents in conversations about their grandchildren (and showed off some pictures of their own families as well). Happy Grandparents Day to all our residents and their families!
